I have just read a report that 1 in 5 patients who died after having back surgery died because of complications linked to pain killers that were used to relieve their lower back pain.
Having been in that camp myself many years ago I am very glad that my body told me to STOP taking them. I became so sick that I could not take them. Thank goodness my warning system worked.
My History Of Pain
I had a back injury when I was 37 and had been told that I would be in a wheel chair by the time I was 45 because there was nothing that could be done for me.
After 3 years of pain killers and anti inflammatory I was ready to do anything to relieve the constant pain and went to see an orthopedic surgeon. When he told me there was nothing that could be done to help me I started looking for alternatives.
The fact that my blood pressure went up; that I had gastrointestinal problems and suffered a heart attack at age 46 can now be laid at the foot of the pain killers and anti inflammatory pills I was popping.
It is now in black and white in studies conducted and published in the April issue of Spine.
So where do you go when you have unbearable pain?
The answer is to offer alternative treatments first without depleting the patient’s system with drugs.
Once I threw away my poisons and embraced alternative body work, starting with chiropractic, massage and finally Bowen Therapy when it became available I was able to almost completely eliminate painkillers. Later when glyconutrients became available the pain killer became entirely obsolete and I am glad to say that I do not have any drugs in my house or in my system.
None at all and I am now 64 and alive, mobile and healthy and not in a wheel chair.
Liver damage and acute liver failure is linked to acetaminophen poisoning, a main ingredient in over the counter pain killers so are you still happy to pop that Panadol?
There is more than the question of killing yourself with toxic pain killers at stake here.
Our children are growing up with drugs being made a joking matter on TV shows and parents setting the bad example of popping pills and alcohol and cigarettes.
This is a dilemma. With the depletion of the nutrients in food, the poisoning of the water supply and the ingestion of toxic invisible chemicals we need to add supplements to our die.
A judgmental teenager can be very “in your face” when you try to give him/her a food supplement on the one hand and tell him not to take drugs on the other. They can argue a pill is a pill and can make one feel pretty helpless when confronted. Teenagers grow up thank goodness.
I don’t have an answer to that and would like some feed back.
Pain Relief Without Drugs
What I do have an answer to is “Pain Relief without Drugs.”
There are many pain remedies in nature and if necessary they can be used under supervision of a holistic practitioner.
However the “one pain – one pain killer” (albeit natural) is still not the desirable situation.
It goes back to the “one disease – one cure”
The aim in my opinion is to assist the body to live without pain by eliminating the CAUSE of pain.
That is a process that is possible and one of the easiest ways to achieve it is to DETOX the body of heavy metals and chemical toxins. A body free from these health robbers will be able to function and I have personal experience of this. A good range of nutritional supplements may also be needed but the body will and can heal and support itself if given the right combination of food water and rest and exercise. That should be our goal.
It is a fact that TOXIC waste blocks vital functions and absorption of nutrients, which leads to an unhealthy acid condition in your body which leads to cellular dysfunction which leads to pain!
Pain is a warning that there is a problem in your body.
It’s like the red light on your car dashboard.
Don’t lift the bonnet and cut the wire to the red light. Don’t fill your body with pain killers but do the intelligent thing and remove the cause, which may be heavy metal overload or chemical poisoning. The easiest Detox you will ever experience is with the Activated Liquid Zeolite colloidal suspension now on the market.

Barbara, what a great article. Thanks for posting that because I’m sure that most people don’t realise what harm some painkillers can do.
For myself, I discovered in a very unfortunate way that I can’t take ibuprofen. I had some lower back pain one night while I was visiting a friend. I asked her if she had some paracetamol, but because she has liver problems she can’t take paracetamol, but she did have some ibuprofen.
I took 2 but about 30 minutes later it felt like I’d been punched in my liver and another 30 minutes later the pain was so intense that I took myself off to the Accident & Emergency department of my local hospital.
Unfortunately there was nothing that they could do, so all I could do was wait for the pain to go away and stay in the A & E department until I was o.k. to be discharged.
I have had a kidney transplant so it would appear that if you have impaired kidney or renal function you shouldn’t take ibuprofen and, according to my friend, if you have impaired liver function, you shouldn’t take paracetamol.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

ibuprofen is definitely the best OTC painkiller for me. It helps me a lot to deal with my muscular pain.”;;
OTC painkillers re drugs. ALL drugs damage your body and leave toxins behind. Our approach is to remove the toxins that cause most inflamation. That way in time you won’t need to damage your body with drugs!
