Lead Poisoning & Alzheimer’s Disease

Several studies show that lead poisoning in infancy may make Alzheimer’s disease more likely.
According to the study, which is based on monkeys, not people, early lead poisoning may also tinker with genes, in a way that sets the stage for Alzheimer’s disease as an adult. In this study baby monkeys for the first 400 days of their life, drank formula with small quantities of lead added. The scientists also fed one group of monkeys’ ordinary, lead-free formula.

During the 23-year study no health problems were seen in the monkeys with no lead added to their formula.
The scientists, who conducted this experiment, checked the monkey’s brains at the end of the study, and they found that the monkeys who drank the lead-laced formula as babies, had higher levels of Alzheimer’s-related proteins and more DNA damage than the other monkeys.
According to the researchers, which included the University of Rhode Island’s Nasser Zawia, PhD, concluded that lead poisoning in infancy may have made the monkeys’ genes make more of the Alzheimer’s-related proteins years later.

The Truth About Lead Poisoning

Lead poisoning is a well-known danger, especially for young children. It can stunt children’s growth and damage their brain, kidneys, hearing, and mental development. I remember and you may also, that our children were put into cots that had been painted with lead based paint, we probably were too, which they used to chew when they were cutting their teeth!

Forty-three years ago we had no idea how dangerous it was to use lead based paint; otherwise we would never have put our children in such a dangerous situation. Thank goodness that most lead has now been removed from our every day lives. But, it is insidious and can remain “glued” to our cells. Shingles, ADD and Liver Abscesses Gone!

My name is Gerlinde Evans I am 61 but feel much younger. I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland. I am semi retired after having been made redundant (not by choice) after many years in the sales and marketing industry.

Due to several health challenges and finding every “drug” I was prescribed did me more harm than good, I decided years ago to find alternate natural ways of keeping healthy.

Some of these were Bowen Therapy, acupuncture and Glyconutrients. I found all very beneficial but even after looking after my health for years, I was diagnosed with amoebic abscesses on my liver. After 10 years of medical treatment, which included a very debilitating antibiotic and aspiration of the abscesses, the abscesses still persisted and made me very ill. During this time I developed shingles.
