Sweating makes her feel sexy says socialite Kim Kardashian
Sweating makes most others feel exhausted and cranky. Sweating keeps my washing machine going in high gear due to my dislike of wearing damp odorous clothes. Sweat doesn’t do to much for the look of my dress clothes either.
However, the experts say that sweating is actually good for us. Those 2.6 million sweat glands in the average person’s skin actually serve a good purpose.
Sweat helps regulate body temperature. Sweating is the way our body responds to an increase in core temperature and it’s essential if our body is to cool down. We stop sweating when our body’s core temperature drops down to normal. If we didn’t sweat we would be in danger of heat stroke.
Other than cooling us off, sweating has other health benefits.
Our metabolic rate can increase when we sweat, When our metabolism increases, our body’s ability to eliminate harmful toxins increases. We have all absorbed toxins that we pick up every day from our environment; from the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe. These toxic chemicals can cause serious health problems. Although our body can get rid of some of these toxins by other methods, up to 30% of them can be effectively eliminated by sweat. Sweat is one of the best toxic flushes in the world!
So it’s probable that individuals who periodically use saunas and steam rooms are getting important health benefits from doing so.
Sweating can also slow down the aging process due to the fact that the presence of harmful toxins causes the skin to age more quickly. Sweat and get rid of the toxins and your skin will be more youthful in appearance and more resilient. By the way, after you work up a sweat, make sure you wash off those toxins and do it with a cleanser that doesn’t contain chemical toxins itself.
Also, keep safety in mind if you’re doing a lot of sweating regardless of whether you’re sweating simply due to hot and humid weather or because of physical activity such as exercise.
The rate at which sweat evaporates into the air is dependent upon the humidity. When humidity is upper percentage range, sweat does not evaporate as easily and cool our bodies as well as when the air is dry.
Dehydration can occur if you lose an excess amount of sweat. This may cause heat stroke, circulatory problems, and kidney failure. The more you sweat the thicker your blood becomes because sweat is made from the fluid in your blood. When this happens your heart has to work harder to pump the blood.
Studies have shown that with an air temperature of 85 degrees and 40 percent humidity the typical runner loses two to four pounds of sweat per hour. It is critical to stay hydrated. You should consume, if you’re running, jogging, or exercising outside,16 ounces of water or sports energy drink an hour or two before you start and then drink 5 – 10 ounces every 15 to 20 minutes thereafter. Serious athletes can find more information about sports and fitness drinks and supplements that are compliant with the IOC’s anti-doping policy here.
So even though most of us don’t enjoy sweating, if we keep hydration in mind we can safely enjoy it’s benefits. Maybe it’ll even make us feel sexy, like Kim Kardashian.
