What Is A Zeolite?
Zeolites are volcanic minerals formed when lava from volcanoes cools over hundreds of years. There are 49 known natural Zeolites plus many synthetic versions. They are one of the few minerals negatively charged in nature, and this is one of the unique properties that allow them to attract and remove toxins and heavy metals from the human body. One particular Zeolite, Clinoptilolite, is of interest here as its particle form is completely safe for humans to the extent it has been granted GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status in the US. They have been used extensively in agriculture, animal feed, water and air filtration, and for bowel management in the traditional powdered form.
