“Lead” Astray: My Toddler Was Toxic

By Angie Smith

I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Marshall, in 1996.

My baby was perfect…well, at least to me he was! He talked very early. He walked very early. Marshall held fairly reasonable conversations by 18 months. I crowed at his every accomplishment, and I felt like he was an extension of my soul toddling around. Surely he was the smartest kid in the world!

Almost three years later, I gave birth to a second (surprise!) son, Michael, who was just as wonderful and beautiful. He started out on the fast track developmentally. But after about one year of age, I began to notice slight differences in his development. He didn’t talk. He didn’t show signs of walking, though he still managed to scoot or roll wherever he wanted to go. He was prone to ear infections, skin infections, and developed terrible allergies and eczema. While Mikey eventually talked in very short sentences at around age two, I knew something was, well, just not right. We didn’t bond as easily, though I was really the only person he would have anything to do with. Dropping him off at the sitter’s was a nightmare. It was as if he was trying to tell us something, but we didn’t know what. It was as if he was in another world. Mikey’s uncle nicknamed him “The Tank”, or “Sherman”, due to his habit of pushing his way over or through anything in his path. He was, ahem, rather destructive and demanding and inconsolable.

All this while my four-year-old was beginning to recognize words and write.

At first I chalked this up to being “the second baby syndrome”. Any mother of more than two children knows what I’m talking about!

When Mikey was nearly two, I took my children to be screened for lead poisoning.

My youngest son showed higher-than-normal amounts of lead, “but not life-threatening”, they told me. And the levels were “not enough to treat him…just find the source and clean it up”. How naive I was.

At the time, we lived in a home that was built in the 1920s and had been remodeled on several occasions. It had also been painted a number of times since the late 1970s when lead was first banned in paint, so at first I was skeptical that the lead came from the paint indoors, which was not peeling anywhere (I found later this really doesn’t matter).

But the paint and siding on the exterior of the home was older, and was starting to decay and chip off around the bottom. I began to check outside near their play area. Upon close inspection, I discovered innumerable tiny white chips of old paint in the dirt and sandbox where my sons played. Decades of rain and exposure to the elements had no doubt washed away old paint into the dirt all around our home.

No doubt, this was the main source of my son’s “minor” lead problem. And he ate everything, apparently including dirt. On several occasions, I fished more than one less-than-savory thing from Mikey’s little mouth.

Immediately, I moved my sons’ play equipment across the driveway. A short time later, we moved into a brand new home.

My little son blossomed. It was as if someone had flipped a switch. Then three years old, he began speaking clearly, potty-trained within days, and surprised us all with something new every day. He wasn’t sick again for months. He formed friendships at preschool, and, more importantly, the child/parent bond began to strengthen.

Knowing now what I didn’t know then, my son was toxic. My children’s pediatrician was schooled in traditional medicine, though I will give her kudos for some of her non-standard recommendations, and she often snubbed by-the-book parenting. But she never recommended any kind of detox treatment for my son, nor did the local health department.

Today, with reports of lead found in commercial toys, makeup, and still leaching out of older homes, there are probably countless children who are being poisoned by so-called “minor” levels of lead.

A breakthrough in the removal of heavy metals from the body occurred about three years ago. It didn’t arrive in time for my son and his situation, but it could help someone you know.

Have you ever heard of zeolite? It’s recently been patented and is produced in a liquid form. It’s extremely effective in removing heavy metals from the human body, and is completely safe.

Luckily, I’m not so naive anymore when it comes to heavy metal toxicity. I know that even a little lead is detrimental. I attribute a number of my son’s toddlerhood troubles to the lead problem and living in a toxic, old house.

Happily, my youngest son shows no signs of having been poisoned. He’s now in the second grade and is a straight-A student. He plays soccer and baseball, and says that when he grows up, he’s going to be a professional football player AND a scientist that designs robots. Now those are some ambitions!

Are your children walking chemistry labs? I hope not. My goal is to inform as many parents and grandparents as possible about the dangers of heavy metals (which, by the way, also come from vaccines—that’s another article though) and how to remove them with liquid zeolite.

Zeolite shows so much promise in so many areas. I only wish we had known about it then. Now here’s your chance to get educated.

Asthma, Sinus, ADHD Gone with Activated Liquid Zeolite

I began taking Activated Liquid Zeolite to help me with fatigue and to improve my general wellbeing.

The first week or so I had a terrible metallic taste in my mouth, which indicated to me that I had heavy metals in my system.

Soon after that I did have a pain in my liver area that lasted a couple of days but by the 3rd week the detox symptoms eased and I felt much better.

I have also suffered from hay fever and other allergies for most of my life and was taking daily antihistamines to deal with the symptoms.  While I was taking the Activated Liquid Zeolite I soon noticed I was “forgetting” to take the antihistamines because my symptoms seemed to have disappeared.

Gradually I completely stopped taking them while I was on the Activated Liquid Zeolite. Consequently I did not take one antihistamine tablet during the Hay fever Season.

I also used to suffer with sinus infections often, but since taking these remarkable drops I am lucky not to have had any symptoms or related infections.

Knowing how I was benefiting from Activated Liquid Zeolite I began giving my 5 year old son a couple of drops in a glass of water when he was being affected by food additives.  If he ate certain flavour enhancers or colour and preservatives, his behavior became similar to that of ADHD and can last for a couple of days.

Depending on how much ‘bad food’ he has had, it now only takes about 30 minutes for him to calm down.  So much so that he can sit down quietly and colour or watch a movie.  Prior to the use of Zeolite he could not keep still, listen or concentrate.  Even my ‘skeptical’ husband is quick to grab the drops when he’s behaving like this.

Unfortunately, I stopped taking the drops for about 6 months as financially things were hard while building a new home.  My overall health and in particular my allergies and sinus problems came back stronger than ever.  I tried a cheaper Zeolite which found on the internet, but in made no difference to either my son or myself.

I have now come back to Activated Liquid Zeolite and look forward to my health improving as I continue to take these amazing drops, I am also looking forward to receiving residual income to enable me to stop going out to work and spend more time with my children.

I would recommend these remarkable drops to any parent who is concerned about their children’s health especially if there is a problem with ADD or ADHD. Please call me if you have any questions as these drops are perfectly safe for children of all ages.

Children Allergic to Fresh Fruit!

Fresh Fruit Triggers Allergic Reaction in Children
By Barbara Lockwood

I have just read on the ABC Health report that children are complaining of tingling in the mouth when eating apples, feeling “funny” when eating bananas and generally voicing a dislike of fruit.

Is it really so surprising?

The report stated that doctors and immunologists were aware of the problem but could not give any explanation as to why this is occurring.

As a person who lived for one year on an apple orchard I can give my opinion on the reasons why, though you need not necessarily agree with it.

Just as an aside we used to pick mushrooms in that orchard the size of serving platters.
I have since learned that mushrooms are wonderful toxin absorbers and detox the soil and surrounding area and that they also absorb chemicals like a sponge. Unfortunately we did not know this at the time and ate the giant mushrooms with great relish. After all you can’t taste half of what kills you and these types of toxins are known as “Invisible Killers”.  www.invisiblekillers.com

We lived in a depression in the land about 500 meters from the packing shed and were surrounded on three sides by the orchard. During that year we had more toxic spray floating over us than I care to remember. Understand that we had moved from Sunshine in Melbourne where the air was thick enough to cut, the smells were vile and when the sun actually shone it was seen through a yellow haze from the munitions factory at Deer Park and the outpourings from the petrochemical plants at Altona and the abattoirs at Footscray.

There were more industrial poisons but that will do for starters. You can perhaps understand why the thought of being sprayed once or twice a week with what we took to be relatively harmless malathion was not that big a deal!

My husband who was part of the “gung ho” generation (as was the boss and his son) wore a simple rain coat and rain hat when spraying the fruit.

All of the trees were sprayed in rotation from the minute that the buds appeared until late in the season when picking started. The smell of the spray was evil and left all of us feeling sick and upset much of the time. Some of the sprays were worse than others but all of them were abundant in quantity, stank and were toxic.

My husband’s skin reeked of chemicals and the smell would not leave him in spite of vigorous showering or soaking in the bath. Our washing machine took on an odour that left me loath to wash the children’s clothes and had I known what I have learned since we would have been “out of there” much sooner.

I blame much of my ill health and my husband’s cancer on that year of living in a toxic hell hole, even worse than the one we left. I think at least in Melbourne our water was not totally poisoned, but who knows. It is certainly not that anymore, according to a meeting held in Tasmania some weeks ago, where Victoria and Tasmania were deemed to have the worst water in Australia.
Now that was a surpise. We have alwasy prided ourselves on our good water in Melbourne.

Invisible and Tasteless Killers?

Our water supply came from a concrete dam, smack bang in the middle of the orchard and was also used for trickle irrigation. A new innovation at the time, the tubes were very fine and kept blocking up with algae, which was treated by adding copper sulphate to the dam. Did we also use chlorine? I can’t honestly say I remember it.

Ignorance is NEVER bliss.

Ignorantly we also swam in the dam and the copper sulphate turned my children’s blond hair green. Was that harmful? I had no idea at the time and we did not really think that much about it.

Here is what I found in an agricultural site.

[Firstly, copper sulphate is not algal specific - in fact it can be quite toxic to other aquatic life, e.g., fish (what about swimmers in a small dam?) when used at high concentrations. Secondly, if the water contains a high concentration of carbonate ions, the copper ions will preferentially combine with the carbonate ions and form an insoluble precipitate of copper carbonate. This precipitate sinks to the bottom of the water body where it forms a toxic slime.

The formation of this precipitate also renders the copper essentially unavailable for the control of algae. To compensate, higher levels of copper sulphate are used which as stated above may seriously threaten other aquatic life. Finally, sulphate containing algicides also have the disadvantage that they combine with hydrogen ions in aqueous solution to form sulphuric acid which is highly corrosive.]

So not only did it not deal with the problem of algae but we were poisoned for nothing, as I well remember the ongoing blocking up of the trickle tubes and their eventual removal.

So, when I hear that children are developing a dislike of fruits and have strange tingling associated with eating the fruit (bananas were the most suspect) I think of the sprays that we were saturated with on a weekly basis. Malathion may be not as toxic as some of the pesticides used but, as the man said in the film  ”Bird on a Wire” –  ”This can’t be good for you”

Wikipeadia had this to say on the subject.

[Malathion itself is of low toxicity; however, absorption or ingestion into the human body readily results in its metabolism to malaoxon, which is substantially more toxic.  Chronic exposure to low levels of malathion have been hypothesized to impair memory, but this is disputed.

There is currently no reliable information on adverse health effects of chronic exposure to malathion.  Acute exposure to extremely high levels of malathion will cause body-wide symptoms whose intensity will be dependent on the severity of exposure. Possible symptoms include skin and eye irritation, cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, excessive sweating, seizures and even death.

Most symptoms tend to resolve within several weeks. Malathion present in untreated water is converted to malaoxon during the chlorination phase of water treatment, so malathion should not be used in waters that may be used as a source for drinking water, or any upstream waters]

I can fully understand that there may NOT be any reliable facts to pin on malathion, I certainly never drew any parallels or connected our ill health to the pesticide . Yet looking back it seems that we had more than our share of unexplained health problems.

Children are carrying two toxic loads.

It appears likely that these children, who are already be carrying not only their toxic load but also that inherited from their mother during gestation, are most likely tipping over the edge and IF this fact were fully recognized by the medical profession or even considered as a causative reaction to the sensitivity then we should have all our children detox ASAP with a gentle safe mineral detox product so that they will NOT develop any of these allergies through toxic build up.

All cases of sensitivity should be considered a reaction to (a) substances that may be present in the body as an overload. It makes perfect sense to me, but perhaps I need to be a doctor to see this as unreasonable. I would love to be able to trial these kids on Activated Liquid Zeolite and see if the removal of their toxic load would make them more tolerant of the toxicity in the fruit, for I  consider this a distinct possibility.
